Palais du Pharo, Marseille (France)
This case study describes the method used to realize a complete façade orthophotography from high-definition photographies. The survey was made to the Pharo Palace, a former imperial house built by Napoléon Bonaparte (XIXth century).
It concerns exclusively the main wall (facing south). The goal was to describe precisely the building's global shape and morphology, as well as the various architectural elements (moldings, windows, arches, etc.)
The shots were taken with the NIKON D3X (24 megapixels) and a progressive lens (24mm for the global shots, and 70mm for the correlation shots.) All in all, the acquisition consists in about fifty photographies. The final point cloud is made of four different clouds.
